Minimum Age: 18yrs+

The coastal waters and spectacular scenery around Angelsey offer some of the best sea kayaking anywhere in the UK and the aim of this course is to attempt to circumnavigate the island of Angelsey, a trip of approximately 70 miles in five days.

From the challenges offered by ‘The Swellies’ to the scenic cliffs of Holy Island to the lighthouses of Penmon and South Stack, there is plenty to see and explore as you kayak around the island.

On most trips strong tides and winds of force 3 to 5 are often encountered so to really get the most out of this trip it is essential you have experience of paddling in these conditions and are fit and active canoeist. The weather is often the deciding factor in completing the whole trip.

The trip starts with some planning and packing on the Monday morning then a shake out paddle/or departing in the afternoon. Overnight camps are normally wild (i.e. no facilities) returning back to the centre on Friday.

If the weather is too inclement we shall return to the centre, and suitable day trips may be undertaken. A typical days paddling is between 12-20miles, this is dependant on tides/winds and groups ability. To save on weight and equipment it can be a good idea to pair up with camping and cooking equipment.
