DofE Sea Kayak Gold Qualifying Expedition

Duration: 5 Days (Mon-Fri)

Minimum Standard: BCU 2* or equivalent. The ability to canoe roll is recommended but not essential

This five day course has been developed for DofE participants wishing to complete their Gold Qualifying Expedition in sea kayaks.

On Monday the group will complete final preparations for their Qualifying Expedition, including final route planning, brushing up on some paddling skills and packing up the sea kayaks ready to leave on Tuesday morning.

They will meet with the DofE Accredited Assessor who will be assessing the expedition and ensuring all 20 conditions of the expedition will be met.

The expedition will then depart on Tuesday morning from the Centre returning on Friday afternoon where they will be debriefed by their assessor. The group will be remotely supervised for the duration of the expedition.

Please note: It is expected that anyone wanting to undertake this Gold Qualifying Expedition will be at the required paddling standard.
