Instructional Development Programme
Plas Menai offers paid work placements of between 6 and 11 months providing you with valuable experience and additional outdoor instructor qualifications.
The programme is open to anyone who holds at least one water-based instructor qualification. It includes a PAID monthly living allowance and full board and accommodation.

Casual Pool Lifeguard & Swimming Instructor
Location: Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre, Caernarfon, North Wales.
Plas Menai is the Sport Wales National Outdoor Centre for Wales, offering outdoor activities, sailing courses, powerboating, windsurfing, kayaking and much more. We also have a busy swimming pool with a varied programme of aquatic activity
We are looking for suitably qualified Pool Lifeguards and Swimming Instructors to join our swimming pool team on a casual/on call basis to cover staff holiday and sickness.
In this role, you will supervise the swimming pool and provide swimming instruction to children and adults in accordance with the centre’s Normal Operating Procedures. You will ensure the Swimming Pool area is maintained to the highest standards and provide a safe and fun environment for our customers.
You must be over 18 years of age and as a Lifeguard it is essential that you hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and have up to date IQL refresher training logged.
As a swimming instructor you must also be over 18 years of age, hold a UKCC L2 Certificate in Coaching or Teaching Aquatics andhave a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and have up to date IQL refresher training logged
Due to the nature of this post the ability to be able to speak in Welsh is considered desirable.
