Instructional Development Programme

Plas Menai offers paid work placements of between 6 and 11 months providing you with valuable experience and additional outdoor instructor qualifications. 

The programme is open to anyone who holds at least one water-based instructor qualification. It includes a PAID monthly living allowance and full board and accommodation. Find more information here.

During busy periods we do use freelance instructors. If you would like to be considered as part of our freelance instructor pool, please contact the Centre on 0300 300 3112 and ask for the Operations Manager or Chief Instructor.

Receptionist at Sport Wales National Outdoor Centre, Plas Menai

Salary: £18,699.44 - £19,646.10

Working hours: 08:30 – 17:00 – Saturday & Sunday - 16 hours

Due to the nature of the role the ability to speak Welsh is considered essential.

What you’ll do

In this busy role, you will be expected to operate the Reception desk at Plas Menai and deal with all customer enquiries and provide administrative support to enable the efficient and effective operation of the Centre. You will also be required to deal with requests for the centre’s courses, facilities, conference rooms and accommodation from initial enquiry to confirmation.

What you’ll need

We are looking for candidates who have the presence and personality to work in a high performing team as well as the passion and drive to succeed. It is essential that you are an excellent communicator and possess good computer skills and have knowledge of computerised booking systems. We are looking for candidates who have administrative, reception, financial and cash handling experience and you will also have previous experience of working in the outdoor sports sector a Sports Centre.
