The two day course provides plenty of opportunities for you to gain confidence and improve your dinghy sailing skills and will be run in our double handed dinghies. The weekend will aim to cover;
RYA Better Sailing (Level 3): This course bridges the gap between Start Sailing and Basic Skills and the five advanced dinghy sailing modules, by consolidating your skills, helping to build your confidence and support the development of good technique and independent sailing. It may also provide a brief introduction to some of the different advanced sailing modules.
Key learning points: Sailing efficiently using the Five Essentials, introduction to spinnakers, dry capsize, improved tacking and gybing, reefing, man overboard and coming alongside
Using their local knowledge of the tides and the weather, our highly experienced instructors will ensure you get the very most out of the weekend, whatever the conditions.
The Next Steps: This weekend will provide you with a solid foundation on which to develop your sailing independently. Once you feel confident in the skills you have learnt, consider consolidating and challenging your skills further on our Develop your Sailing week or Seamanship and Spinnakers weekend.

Minimum Standard: Has mastered the practical skills and absorbed the background knowledge up to Basic Skills level
Minimum Age: 16 yrs.
Anyone under the age of 18 years must have a Parental Consent form completed and signed by a parent/guardian - this must be handed in to reception on arrival during registration, without this form participants will not be permitted to take part.
