A new course for this year, bringing together all of the elements of advanced sailing, including dinghy foiling.  Aimed at improving skills and knowledge of the advanced modules applying most appropriate sessions for the conditions.  With a great range of boats to include Laser single handers, RS 2000 and RS 500’s with the addition of the RS Aero with foiling kit.  The on water sessions are aimed at the performance sailing module to improve boat handling with spinnakers and trapeze or to learn to fly in the foils using the latest coaching techniques including video coaching and Bb Talking headsets.

In the event of very light or too much wind there is still a lot of skills to cover including land drills for advanced tacks, gybes, hoist drop spinnaker and trapeze.  There is  alot to learn about boat set up, rig tension, use of a Loos gauge and rig controls.  There is also the option to get afloat in the J80 keelboats in some winds too strong for dinghies.  We are also in an ideal location to learn about tides, charts and navigation as part of the day sailing module.

The course is aimed at people confidently sailing in stronger winds with experience of spinnakers or who may have completed our Sailing with spinnakers course.  It is an ideal weekend for any dinghy instructors thinking of progressing to the advanced instructor weekend.

The Plas Menai team consist of a very experienced team of 3 coach assessors and no less than 9 advanced dinghy instructors all with great experience of sailing on the Menai Strait.

Private coaching is available if there is a specific skill you wish to master, as the group course does need to consider the needs of all of the participants.
