The RYA Day Skipper Theory course provides a comprehensive introduction to chartwork, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship.  By the end of the week you should have the theoretical knowledge to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day. It is recommended you complete this course prior to doing the RYA Day Skipper practical course.

Key learning points: seamanship, coastal navigation and pilotage, chartwork, electronic charts, position fixing, plotting a course to steer, weather forecasting and meteorology, tides and collision regulations.

This course is classroom based.
